Two Options: Quick & Easy OR More Info
Quick and Easy - Just click (and maybe download and open). The stream will start in your browser.
More Info - A little harder, but you can see the Song Titles and Artist Names
Just click on the "LISTEN NOW" link above.
Download and Open the playlist file. The stream will play in your default browser.
BUT - You won't see the track titles or artists’ names while the songs and tunes play.
Go to the Google Play Store.
Search for VLC and Install VLC for Android (icon is Orange & White Traffic Cone)
Open VLC. Click on the "LISTEN NOW" link above. VLC will start playing the Radio Stream.
To listen to Mighty-Fine! Radio on an iPhone with song titles and singer IDs visible, do the following:
Step One: Copy this link to your clipboard
https://cast2.asurahosting.com/tunein/mightyfi.pls
Step Two: Open the VLC Media Player App on your phone.
If you don’t already have that app, open the Apple App Store and search for the VLC Media Player, which you can then download quickly for free.
Then launch the VLC Player.
Step Three: Once VLC is launched, look at the bottom of the VLC App home screen and select the Network icon.
Step Four: When the Network page opens, select “Open Network Stream”
Step Five: Once you are on the “Open Network Stream” page select “Private Playback,” and then paste the link you’ve previously copied to your clipboard into the grey bar visible above the Orange Bar with the words “Open Network Stream.”
Step Six: Click on “Open Network Stream.”
The Mighty Fine Radio stream will begin to play, and the track title and
artist of the currently playing song or tune will appear in a bar near the bottom of the screen.
Click on that bar if you want to open the player to full screen mode, or simply leave it where it is, and let it play “as is”.
NOTE Despite the fact that pause, fast forward and go back controls are visible in the player, you cannot pause or skip through the Mighty Fine Radio stream.
If you press the “Fast Forward” or “Go Back” arrows, nothing will happen. If you press “Pause” and then hit “Play” again, you will hear just a few more seconds of what was playing, but then nothing.
That’s because what you’ve tuned into (begun streaming) is a live “radio station” of randomly selected tracks, not an individually controllable playlist. That’s the bad news. The good news is that whatever you are listening to at that moment is what everyone else who’s got the “radio” turned on just then is also hearing. We’re on it together.
If you want to stop and then start the Mighty Fine Radio Stream in the VLC App again, you’ll need to close and then relaunch it. Once it’s open, repeat the same steps to “Open Network Stream” once again.
